Crazy Golf | 30 Days of Summer | Day 17

Good Morning!

Today's Challenge is:

Play Crazy Golf

If you are new to my 30 days of summer challenge click here to find out what it is!

Crazy golf is a fun little activity rather than a proper sport but, to me anyway, it is still very challenging! Simply put, there are obstacles that you have to hit the ball through and into a hole on the other side in as few hits as possible.

Today, along with a group of friends, I had a game of crazy golf and to say I lacked skill is an understatement. Basically I came last, I have never been very good at sports involving balls! Much halarity came about when one of my friends kept hitting the ball to hard and knocking it through the hedge and she had to go searching for it!

Today's challenge is a great one for getting friends together and doing a cheap and cheerful activity. The likelihood is you wont be as bad as me and you will score much better but even if it is not your forte it is still a fun activity to do with friends!

I don't know whether other countries have Crazy Golf so just in case you don't have a course near you why not try going to a park and seeing what you can find, a maze perhaps. Whatever you find just get out there and have fun with some friends.

I hope you have fun with today's challenge, if you want to make sure you see tomorrows challenge be sure follow my blog and follow me on twitter too. Also make sure you record all the exciting things you do this summer, take lots of photos and keep your own blog, and please send me a link to it so I can see what you are up to, I would really really love that!

Bye, see you tomorrow!

Internet Freedom | 30 Days of Summer | Day 16

Good Morning!

Today's Challenge is:

Spend a day with out the Internet

If you are new to my 30 days of summer challenge click here to find out what it is!

The Internet plays a massive part in a large number of people lives these days and I am one of those people who is addicted to the internet, or should I say, I was. I have just come back from a week long scout Jamboree in Cheshire called Chamboree and throughout this time I did not have internet access and, you know what, I didn't even miss it!

I was really worried about the prospect of being away from my beloved-ed internet, I spend so much time on it and invest myself so much into its world that it can, at times, get a bit too much. Don't get me wrong, I have got so much from the internet world and I really do enjoy it but getting so invested in so many people, places and things, often very far away, can get a bit stressful. It was really refreshing to spend a week away with only things directly around me to worry about and, most importantly, to enjoy.

It may seem weird writing about not using the internet, on the internet but the number of devices I have that can be used to access the internet is ridiculous! A week without it has simply reminded me to spend a bit of time away from it from time to time and that is what I encourage you to do.

So this challenge is to spend a whole day without the internet. It may sound difficult when you think about how much you use it but the key is to fill your day with lots of fun things to do and, just for one day, simply enjoy what is around you.

Make sure you check back the day after and read the post you missed though!

Collect memories | 30 Days of Summer | Day 15

Good Morning!

Today's Challenge is:

Collect Your Memories

If you are new to my 30 days of summer challenge click here to find out what it is!

The things we do in our daily lives, even on trips and holidays, can be easily forgotten as we race through the world. That's why I love to take time to remember all the exciting things I have done in my life so far.

Photo's are a great way to remember things, I love to look through old photo albums. These days, though, with all our photos on the computer, it isn't so easy to look through them. So why not take some time out to look through all your old photos, diaries and keepsakes and put them into an album or memory box. Make sure you make notes on the pictures so in years to come you can still remember what they are!

I also encourage you to collect the memories of the things you have done this summer. I have been asking you to keep a blog so I can have a look at what your doing but you could always keep a diary instead (or as well) and put your pictures as you go.

Bye, see you next week!

Visit the Seaside | 30 Days of Summer | Day 14

Good Morning!

Today's Challenge is:

Visit the Seaside

If you are new to my 30 days of summer challenge click here to find out what it is!

I am very lucky, I live on an Island which means I am surrounded by they sea but this hasn't always been the case. When I was little I lived in the middle of England so we rarely visited the sea making trips to the seaside THE most exciting thing ever!

Since I have lived on an Island though, that hasn't changed. I still love going to the beach, in fact I even go swimming in sea at Christmas every year (Its VERY cold!). There is a magic to being able to go swimming in the sea, building sand castles or simply eating some fish and chips whilst look out at the boats bobbing around.

I understand for some people going to the seaside is not really practical but what about a big lake, they often have beaches on them so it is very similar really. In fact there are a number of lakes in the world bigger that the whole Island I live on!

So go find some water and have some fun. It would be particular cool if you could send me photographs of you eating fish and chips by the sea or lake, as it is a British tradition!

Write a Letter | 30 Days of Summer | Day 13

Good Morning!

Today's Challenge is:

Write a letter

If you are new to my 30 days of summer challenge click here to find out what it is!

These days we are often so reliant on modern technology we take it for granted that we can contact people. It is really easy to rely on social media to update friends and family about what we are up to that we lose that one to one personal contact.

So today why don't you try getting in touch with that friend or family member you haven't spoken to properly for a while but instead of just texting them or messaging them online why not send they a letter. Perhaps they live far away or you just don't get chance to see them much.

A letter is such a personal way of contacting people and it's even more personal if you hand write it! Maybe you have had a recent big event you could tell them about and even send a photo. It is also a great way to get in touch with someone who doesn't have internet or a mobile phone! I am going to send a letter to a few friends and family to tell them about my graduation.

Go on a Wildlife Walk

If you are new to my 30 days of summer challenge click here to find out what it is!

I have already challenged you to visit a wildlife park or zoo but how about the wildlife in the wild? Seeing animals in their natural habitat is fascinating. Not only can you see how they interact with there environment but also how they interact with other species.

Whether they are birds, insects, mammals or fish they are all pretty cool it see out in the wild. Loving animals as much as I do I find them all really interesting but even if you are not a fan I am sure you will find something that you enjoy, something to learn about.

As well as going out on your own why not look out for guided walks in your area so that you learn even more!

I hope you have fun with today's challenge, if you want to make sure you see tomorrows challenge be sure follow my blog and follow me on twitter too. Camping | 30 days of Summer | Day 11

Good Morning!

Today’s challenge is:

Camping!

Do you see a theme developing here? I have been part of the Scout movement for 10 years so I think my love of the outdoors will show through in these challenges and I would love to inspire others in the process!

The number of nights I have spent under canvas must be in triple figures by now so I guess you can consider me experienced at it, but it really isn't challenging. I would recommend if it your first time camping wait for reasonable weather though.

Sleeping under canvas is great fun, it gets you back to nature. Fresh air and friends is all you need for a great camping experience! Okay, a tent might me useful too I guess...

If you are just going to have a go at camping for one night please don't spend a fortune on it, you really don't need to and trying it out will help you realise what you do and don't need to buy if you think it is a hobby you want to take up! Why not speak to friend or family to see if they have some kit you can borrow?

These days you can get tents really cheaply which are perfectly fine for summer camping (they probably wont with stand storms or lots of wind though!) and you can even hire them and they will even put them up for you. Saying that I find putting up tents is part of the fun for me, it isn't as difficult as people make out and they often have instructions.

These no need to go expedition style camping if you don't want to, although that is great fun, a lot of my nights in tents have been spent like this! Take a pillow for a comfy nights sleep or even a airbed if want real luxury!

Even if you just do it in your back garden it will still be awesome!

My favourite way to spend a camping trip is combining it with a long walk then returning to your tent in time to cook yourself some tasty grub.

I hope you have fun with today's challenge, if you want to make sure you see tomorrows challenge be sure follow my blog and follow me on twitter too. Also make sure you record all the exciting things you do this summer, take lots of photos and keep your own blog, and please send me a link to it so I can see what you are up to, I would really really really love that!

Bye, see you tomorrow!
